Yup...that's productivity.
I think I'm going finals crazy.
P.S.: I think I'm sorta in love with "Stay With Me Baby" by NKOTB. Even though it's a TOTAL Rasta song. I blame Sara for loving this. But OMG, I love it and it makes me LAUGH my ass off. It's making the finals playlist. Hmm, think I need to make that soon.

I know I have a TON of DVDs I don't watch anymore. So what a better way to get rid of them than trade for new ones. Of course, you pay to ship them to someone else. But when you request a movie from someone, they pay to ship it to you. AND...you get credits towards getting movies for each one you ship.
If you click the banner (or the link in my links list), make sure you put my nickname as the "Referred By" -- bend-dontbreak.
I put them up today, and I already have 1 movie to mail and one more potential. Could be cool. My mom does their book site and loves it. I might actually try the CD site later, too.

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

[BTW - my 25th birthday is January 10th as well, so I'm kinda including wishes for that, too]

So my dad wanted our backyard cleaned up. Great...until the guy cut our cable line while cutting down a bush. So we're without cable and Internet til Tuesday. Suck enough but I actually have 2 papers I need to download and read for class Monday. Looks like I'm headed to the coffee shop tomorrow. First I need to finish Accounting and Secured Financing.
Sucks! Dammit no game for me tonight! And I'll be missing GG and OTH on Monday unless I get an antenna for my tv.
And I forgot the water I went downstairs to get.
Gahhhh!

EDIT: McCain is giving an amazing concession speech. I feel this is honest and truthful. This is the real John McCain we haven't seen. And I'm glad he's stopping people from booing.

Fight, Matadors, for Tech!
Songs of love we'll sing to thee,
Bear our banners far and wide.
Ever to be our pride,
Fearless champions ever be.
Stand on heights of victory.
Strive for honor evermore...
Long live the Matadors!
TEXAS TECH JUST BEAT TEXAS! (AKA THE # 1 RANKED TEAM IN THE NATION!)
Best quotation at the end of the game:
Lisa Salter (interviewer): "What were you thinking when you looked up, 1:29 left to go, and you are down?"
Graham Harrell (TTU QB) "We're gonna win the game, you know what I mean. They left us too much time."
I know of no Tech fan that doesn't agree wholeheartedly with that statement...but I did NOT expect that touchdown.
Granted I will tell you that most of the 3rd and the 4th had me shaking...literally shaking.

I loved Obama's infomercial today. It was pretty amazing. A little contrite at times but some amazing editing. Hopefully it actually got through to people, although the people who needed to hear it wouldn't listen to it.
I'm going to actually give you (anyone who wants to read this) why *I* voted for Obama...aside from the main reason I knew he was the nominee for me.
( Why I voted Obama - in my heart )
I imagine most of you are in fact intelligent and know most of these are lies, but I want to make a few things clear:
1. Obama is NOT a Muslim. And even if he were, there is nothing wrong with being a Muslim. If you think there is, then you better de-friend me now because I am a Muslim. And I am damn proud of it.
2. Obama is NOT a supporter of Radical Islam. He will NOT open our country up to more attacks like 9/11.
3. Obama does NOT hate America. Why would someone who hates this country put themselves and their family through the ringer for 20+ months for a country they hate.
( OKAY...Now policy reasons why I am voting for Barack Obama: )
( Other reasons...with some McCain bitching... )
( Problems I have with both candidates )
To everyone: I'm not telling you who to vote for because voting is a very personal decision you have to make on your own within your own construct. But before you step into that booth, know why you're voting for who you're voting for. Make sure the person you're voting for is the person you want leading our country for the next 4 years...in fact make sure their VP is someone you would feel comfortable with leading our country. Be an educated voter. Know the issues and have a reason other than "this is what I'm supposed to do." Because everyone deserves the right to vote in our country, but it scares me to see people around the world more knowledgeable about the stances of our presidential candidates than our own citizens. And that goes to both sides. I know a few of you are Republicans, and while I cannot fathom that personally, that is your decision to make. But I want everyone, Obama supporters and McCain supporters, to be sure they are making their decisions for the right reasons and not out of hate or fear of the other side or because they didn't bother to investigate the other side because you're a "Republican" or "Democrat." Party names should mean nothing. Support the candidate because of who they are and their record...parties be dammed.
So here you have my political diatribe for the night...enjoy. I end this with 2 of my favorite videos:

First...like the new layout? Took like 4-5 hrs today including making the images. Yes it's all NKOTB. Hot men = happy Mandy.
legally_blonde called me as I was trying to shut off my brain. I'm starting to get the finals stress which is why I have no motivation but I'm scared shitless.
We just spent 2 hours on the phone...though not much was actually talked about. We tend to stay on the phone while we each do our own thing.
My header is now my desktop background. It's hot!
I had to kidnap another DVD player so I could watch my movie that I've been trying to watch for days - Stephen King's Rose Red.
Anyway off to bed! Night!

If John McCain wins the presidency, I am leaving this country. He ONLY speaks in talking points, not actually hearing anything Obama is saying. He's blatantly lying.
He said he's categorically proud of his supporters. Sir, you need to watch it because your supporters are the ones at your events calling for the death of your opponent and calling him a terrorist. You have condone and scolded some, but you have not done it for all. And you have done nothing about your idiotic running mate who does not represent me as a woman and who I am not proud to have representing my gender.
Oh and yes, Joe Biden was right in saying that Iraq would function best as 3 countries. In fact, it function as such until the British imperialist stepped in and played God like they do so well.
( Sen. McCain, you are the quintessential personification of erractic. And that does not mean old. )
Sen. McCain, your supporters in part believe Mr. Obama is a Muslim Arab terrorist. And those three terms are synonmous in their heads. What have you done, sir, to contradict any of those thoughts? Your job, sir, is to end stereotypes like that. Regardless of your opponent, you need to inform your supporters that those 3 terms do not go hand-in-hand. I am a Muslim. I am not a terrorist, and I am not an Arab. Now, sir, what do you say to that? Well I know what you'll say. You'll say one thing but do another.
Senator John McCain, you disgust me.
You are a lying sack of shit, for lack of a more graceful term. In fact, I don't believe you deserve anything more graceful. A lie by omission is still a lie. A half-truth is still a lie. A deluded belief is still a lie. AND A LIE IS A LIE. You and your running mate, sir, DO NOT make me proud to be an American.
Barack Obama, who tells his supporters not to boo at your mention makes me proud to be an American. A man who does not call you out on your supports calling for his life but instead wants to focus on the issues.
So fuck you, John McCain. I hope to God your ass is handed to you on November 5th, and I pray to God that your idiotic supporters don't get the *bright* idea to assassinate Sen. Obama because they think he's a terrorist from all the stupid and idiotic ads you've placed on the media. I hope our country can come together after the shit you've pulled, but not under your leadership.
The...end.
